Owner's Description

A sensational proof Seated Quarter with only 930 proofs and 14,000 business strikes. The sparkling, untoned surfaces have the look of a newly minted coin, being temptingly close to "as struck" preservation. The contrast between the fields and the devices is profound, a possible upgrade to Ultra Cameo status. As a date, the 1885 is popular for its low total mintage, but all of that becomes secondary when a specimen of this remarkable quality enters the registry collection.
