Owner's Description
The type 3 Liberty Head Double Eagle is fairly common, it was minted from 1877-1907 with a combined mintage of 64,137,477, more than any other gold type to this point and surpassed only by the St. Gardens Double Eagle, but just barely. This example is quite flashy for an AU coin, grading AU58PL Proof-Like. It exhibits nice mirrors, a great strike, booming luster, and for a PL coin that has been circulated and does not hide contact marks well, amazing surfaces.
