Coin Description: A gorgeous untoned semi-prooflike premium gem. There are some scattered marks on the obverse portrait that are accentuated by the prooflike nature of the coin. However, the fields are very clean and the reverse shows only the most minor of flaws. The strike is hammered for a late 50's Jefferson and the eye appeal generated by the prooflike luster is undeniable.

Comments: This is the only Jefferson Nickel that I have ever seen with prooflike luster. And while normally a fan of vibrant frosty luster with vivid rainbow toning, I could stare at the reverse of this coin all day long. The prooflike luster works in combination with the strike to provide the viewer with a level of preservation rarely seen from a Jefferson Nickel. Alas, quality is not cheap for a top pop full step Jefferson Nickel and this coin cost close to a NICKEL.
