Owner's Description

Mintage: 176 Million
Full Step Availability: 5%
Population MS67: 15/0
Date/mm Information: Lustrous eye appealing coins are common but most have poor detail.

Coin Description:
Vibrant pink, lime green, and lemon yellow blanket the obverse while the reverse shows and untoned area that yields to rainbow waves of orange, lavender, blue, yellow, pink, and green. Well struck for the year and clean surfaces also account for the grade.

Commments:
Truly spectacular toning of this magnitude must be scrutinized with regards to its originality. NGC has decided that the coin is market acceptable, but it is questionable in the eyes of this collector. Despite the questionable originality, the eye appeal is undeniable. David Lawrence Rare Coins offered this coin in auction in January 2010. Even with their subpar images, the quality of the toning was evident. A premium bid of 7X Numismedia Wholesale was needed to capture this monster toned coin.
