Owner's Description

Mintage: 29.4 Million

Population MS67: 19/0
Date/mm Information: Like the 53-S, lustrous examples are available but full steps are almost non existent as this date/mm is the worst struck of the entire series.

Coin Description:
An incredibly attractive example of this conditionally rare issue. A remarkable patina of peach, sunshine yellow, powder blue, lavender, and iridescent cobalt blue drapes both sides of this satin luster premium gem with a decent strike for a normally mushy year. With a total population of (14/0), finding a more eye appealing example of this date/mm will be very challenging indeed.

Comments:
I will go out on a limb and state that this is the most eye appealing 1954-S in existence. Furthermore, the coin is certainly deserving of the star designation. Nickels of this date/mm simply dont look like this. If you dont believe me, check the Heritage auction archives and look for yourself. Remember to include MS66 coins or you will only have one hideous MS67 to view. I purchased this coin at 2X Numismedia wholesale in a Teletrade auction in August of 2009. My max bid was 5X wholesale.
