Coin Description:
Gorgeous shades of peach, lavender, and powerful slate blue radiate outwards on the obverse to rainbow dappled peripheries of orange, gold, pink, and mint green. Remarkably clean with only two very minor distractions on Jeff's face. The reverse shows a conglomeration of pastel shades over equally clean surfaces. With a scant populaton of 12/0, this lustrous premium gem is well deserved of the assigned grade.

Comments:
In early October 2010, the E-Bay seller responsible for the 1944-D & 1944-S in this collection started to offer some toned NGC Jefferson Nickels bearing the certification number 2538159-xxx. So far the ending numbers have ranged into the 40's. That in conjuction with the oustanding toning of these coins leads credence to support that this is an album collection that was recently graded by NGC. This coin is the first of 3 coins from that album collection to appear in this registry set. This coin is beautifully patinated, extremely sharp, and the steps are actually pretty close to full. A premium of 2.5X Numismedia wholesale was paid to obtain this coin in October 2010.
