Owner's Description

The first or second year issue (your view on this depends on which theory on the 1327 No Regnal you subscribe to) 1327/2 20 Para is a solid semi-key issue within the whole Ottoman Nickel series and it is likely the first regular issue Nickel 20 Para. With a mintage of 1,524,000, this 1327/2 20 Para is somewhat elusive in all grades, and it is extremely difficult to locate in any Mint State grade, but when they are found, they are a real treat! My coin has a razor sharp strike and a gorgeous flashy and icy proof like luster. The quality of these coins is amazing when you think of how hard nickel is as a metal. Many nations had trouble striking copper-nickel coins in the 1950's and 1960's, but the Ottoman Empire was doing an amazing job with nickel coinage in the 1910's.
