Owner's Description

This 1934S NGC MS-66 Peace Dollar is Absolutely Blast White and as clean as a 34S can be. The fields are virtually perfect, and other than some of the lightest of surface contact, the only visible marks are on the reverse with one tiny ding on the "E" in States, and a faint rub on the Eagles upper neck. This coin is an absolute STUNNER! No 34S has ever been graded higher, and this specimen is one of the best 66's ever graded at this level when compared to all the 66's that have been auctioned in the past 10 years. Roger Burdette states in his "Guide Book of Peace Dollars" that the 34S is the rarest issue in Mint State Uncirculated condition. Burdette also states the Jack Lee I specimen is generally considered to be the finest known example of an MS-66 34S Peace Dollar. We have compared this coin to the PCGS Jack Lee coin, and this specimen is actually a much stronger strike, with more detail in Liberty's hair on the obverse, and on the eagles wing then the Lee specimen; with very comperable absolute minimum surface abrasions. This coin has no major marks, where the Lee coin has a very obvious deep bag mark in Liberty's hair just in front of the bun, and some abrasion just behind Liberty's eye. The Lee Specimen also displays a few small field dings below the "U" on Pluribus on the reverse. Having a Top Pop MS-66 Key Date coin of this quality is one of the highlights of this collection. We sincerely believe that if this coin were compared side by side to the Lee coin, outside holders, and you were to pick the best coin, you would take this one! If ever there was a MS 67 34S, this coin would be a strong candidate. NGC Population in MS 66 is 14 with none finer. This coin has never been auctioned and has only traded hands through private collectors.
