Owner's Description

Top Pop Blast White Full Strike Tough Denver Date with a very unique Die Break. The 1926-D was produced to the extent of 2.3 million pieces, and, while not rare, this issue is not really common either. Still, examples can be located with relative ease in grades up to and including the MS65 level of preservation, but at the Superb Gem level it is a significant condition rarity. Only 15 Total 26-D Peace Dollars have been graded MS-67 by both PCGS and NGC and, of course, none are finer. This nearly flawless piece exhibits razor-sharp striking details. The surfaces are absolutely Blast White and covered with a bright, glistening luster preserved in a state of quality like it just came off the press. The coin is absolutely Brilliant throughout. Roger Burdette states in his "Guide Book of Peace Dollars" that a very unique attribute of the Obverse 1926 dies is the obvious manual strengthening of the work "GOD." It is a feature of ALL 1926 Peace Dollars, regardless of the mint implying the modification was made to the Master Die Hub that all production dies were created from. The NGC Population for this coin is 7 with None higher. This coin was last sold at a Heritage auction in January of 2006.
