Owner's Description

This coin is the last in the series of 4 (birds of prey of Southern Africa). Like all coins in the series, the composition is 925 silver and 075 copper. The total mass being 33.626gram/1oz Silver with a diameter of 38.70mm. Total mintage figures for this coin is the most in the 4 coin series (2 083) and is also fairly common in this grade. A real life secretary bird is however not as common a sight in South Africa. I have seen more of these coins on auction sights than what I have seen a real life secretary bird with its long armoured legs (protection against snakes - its main diet) along the many farm roads I have travelled.
