Owner's Description

This beautiful coin with the United Nations emblem inside the numeral 50 and above the world globe, celebrates 50 years of the United Nations. Limited mintage figures of 1 412 makes this a difficult coin to obtain, both raw and graded and impossible to find in PF70. The engraver (Arthur Sutherland) has done a magnificent job depicting the commemorative purpose of the UN, an international organization formed in 1945 to increase political and economic cooperation among its member countries. 8 South African languages elegantly frame the old coat of arms on the reverse of the coin.
