Owner's Description

Mintage 14,813 and probably less than 200 survivors today.

Ex Heritage April 2014 CSNS Sale where it was described as follows" 1860-C $5 VF30 NGC. Variety 1. From the only known dies, this coin hails from a mintage of only 14,813 half eagles minted at Charlotte in 1860. The number of surviving examples is low, adding to the desirability of this piece. Rich gold color and the absence of any mentionable marks are among the attributes this specimen possesses.
