Owner's Description

Mintage 17,046 and among the rarest of the late date Dahlonega half eagles.

Ex Heritage February - March 2013 ANA National Money Show where it was described as follows: 1857-D $5 Fine 12 PCGS. Variety 41-HH (formerly 34-CC). A luminous lemon-gold representative of this very scarce and low mintage Dahlonega issue. No marks are consequential and the eye appeal is attractive for the designated grade. The shield lines are distinct and some plumage detail remains.
