Owner's Description

Mintage 118,143.

The first year for this popular classic series that ran for 70 years. Fairly common in lower grades but had to find in AU or higher grades. This piece has a small scratch on the reverse, otherwise I think it would have straight graded a 53. Purchased in a Coin Galleries mail bid sale September 24, 1980.
