Owner's Description

The V incuse at the point of the shoulder at point of shoulder is a privy mark of the Bombay mint. This mark is so deep that this can be observed on well-worn out coins too.

I noticed that in some coins there also appears to be a V mark on the obverse field above the Queen's shoulder. It looks like someone scratched a V on the die because of how weak the mark is.

Coins of 1862 was stuck from 1862-1874 with a frozen date and therefore there are no 1/4 anna coins with a different year issued from 1862-1874.

The one rupee coins from the series have dots to give an idea about which year they could probably have been struck in but the 1/4 anna coins did not have such marks.

The highest grade for this coin in the NGC registry is MS 64 RB and is present as a part of this registry set.
