Owner's Description

This is the second 1988 Double Die NGC graded and the highest grade given by NGC or PCGS. The first 88 DDR to be graded by NGC is in my second set. To date there are 9 known to exist and to be graded by PCGS and NGC combined. This discovery was made by a friend a fellow collector Dan from Connecticut. As more collectors discover these beautiful coins I am sure that other varieties will come to the surface.

The doubling on this variety is very extreme as it can be see throughout the reverse of the coin. My second picture captures the doubling in the wing of the angel. The doubling is also seen on the dot as in the 1987 DD.
