Owner's Description

The 1985 had a mintage of 2.017 million. This was the first time and would be only 1 of only 2 times the libertad would see mintages over 2 million for any given year. You would think that with that many minted ther would be plenty of great coins to choose from for grading. Well, yes and no. There were plenty of coins but not many great ones. Highest graded libertad for this year was MS68 with only 15. The most popular grade was MS66 with 302. Quality for this year was very low. This was one of the years i purchased several unopened mint rolls and saw with my own eyes the poor quality of the coins that left the mint.
