1898-S Twenty, Appealing MS65
Well-Struck and Well-Preserved
1898-S $20 MS65 NGC. Glowing golden luster runs over each side of this lovely Gem 1898-S double eagle, a high-mintage issue of more than 2.5 million pieces and pleasingly available in Gem. No monkeyshines with overseas shipping or subsequent melting appear to have greatly impaired the supply of Gem specimens at both services. The few signs of contact are widely dispersed and distant from the focal points. Census: 98 in 65, 3 finer
