Owner's Description

In 1884 The San Francisco Mint produced a total of 916,000 Gold Double Eagles. This fine example of a Mint State MS-61 is one of a few survivors of the era.To date only 2,402 have been certified by the various services combined. NGC has certified 772 of better grade. The coin still shows the original rose color gold in its obverse center with minor scratches evident.
