Owner's Description

1854-S Double Eagle, MS60 First-Year San Francisco Issue
1854-S $20 MS60 PCGS. Approximately 200 to 300 1954-S twenties were recovered from the wreckage of the S.S. Yankee Blade, many of which were Uncirculated and showed granular surfaces indicative of a seawater effect. While we are unable to confirm that this is one such coin, its textured surfaces and MS60 certification make it a distinct possibility. A sharply struck, orange-gold example with the S mintmark touching the tailfeathers. Population: 1 in 60, 52 finer (6/14).
