Owner's Description

Winter Variety 2-A. A brilliant, lustrous and very attractive coin. The strike is quite good on both sides with just slight evidence of “lightness”. The color is an even honey gold and the abrasions are minimal. Doug Winter commented on this coin in a February 10, 2007 article regarding Carson City Half Eagles where he stated “In my opinion, the Old West 1879-CC was just gorgeous and I could see it grading MS61 on a good day”. Purchased from Legend; ex: ANR 8/06: 1331 (Old West Collection).
