Owner's Description

A very scarce issue that, according to Akers, is "much more rare than generally believed, particularly in high grade." Uncommonly well struck for a gold coin from this period. Signs of handling are minimal throughout. For pedigree purposes, there are two small marks (reeding?) below the “IN GOD WE TRUST” banner. Magnificent cameo contrast is observed on both sides. Heritage 8/06: 5511.

NOTE: The haze seen above Liberty’s eye level is on the holder, not the coin. This coin requires reholdering.
