Owner's Description

Winter Variety 1, Die State 1. Both the obverse and reverse have pleasing original green-gold color. The reverse has traces of orange-gold highlights. The design elements are essentially full, except for weakness on the reverse that is present on all 1859-C half eagles; it is believed that this weakness is due to an improperly hubbed die. The obverse has nearly vertical die polish lines that are visible under 5X magnification. Heritage 7/09: 1262; Heritage 2/08: 23681.
