Owner's Description
The 1964 Denver-minted coin had the highest mintage of all dates in the silver Roosevelt dime series. With over 1.3 billion coins minted, the 1964-D Roosevelt accounts for over 20% of all Roosevelt dimes ever minted. With so many coins produced, mint state examples survive in the millions.
The 1964-D is the most common silver Roosevelt dime. However, only a few very high-grade examples have been certified by NGC and PCGS. There are less than five 1964-D Roosevelt dimes that have been certified MS 67+ or better by these two companies.
The 1964 here is the Pointed 9 variety. Bright white with good luster on both sides, this dime has just a few spots of discoloration.
It has a good strike and fine details. Most of the torch lines are present, but the lower band line is not present at all.
Very light contact marks are present on both sides but consistent with the MS 67 grade. Overall, this is a nice dime for the collection from Six Mile Rick.
