Owner's Description
In its final year producing a business-struck Roosevelt dime, the San Francisco Mint produced 18.5 million dimes and this date is generally considered a semi-key date in the series. PCGS estimates that about 110,000 1955-S Roosevelts survive in MS 65 condition or better.
The 1955-S here is bright white with excellent luster. Very small and light spots can only be seen through strong magnification. But this dime has very good eye-appeal.
It has a good strike and fine details on both sides, with no hairlines but a little spread on some of the lettering. Significant contact marks are not present on either side and overall this coin is appropriately graded.
The S mintmark may have been repunched. It appears that there is a secondary S that protrudes to the south. However, I can not identify any RPM from those listed by CONECA. And this coin has no been examined by an expert for confirmation.
Overall, this is a very nice coin for the collection with great eye-appeal. This is another great coin from Six Mile Rick.
