Owner's Description

The 1960-P Roosevelt dime had a mintage of over 70 million and high grade coins survive in the hundreds of thousands. Coins with full torch strikes, however, are a little less common.

PCGS estimates that 59,000 1960-P Roosevelt with full torch strikes survive in MS 65 condition or better. In total, there are only 288 Philadelphia Roosevelts dated 1960 with Full Torch or Full Bands designations that have been certified by NGC and PCGS. And there is only 1 that has been graded MS 68 FT by NGC. At MS 66 FT, NGC has 58 in their registry, while PCGS has a population of 79.

This 1960-P here is blast white, full of its original luster, and 100% spot-free on both sides with great eye-appeal. It has a great strike and fine details, but there are some very light to medium hairlines on both sides and several long die scratches on the obverse, particularly on the Roosevelt relief.

Torch lines, however, are clear, well-defined, and uninterrupted. Light contact marks are present on both sides but grade appropriate. Overall this is a very nice dime and one of my personal favorites in the entire collection.
