Owner's Description
The Denver Mint produced 108 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1956 and millions survive in mint state condition.
The 1956-D in this collection is bright white and full of luster on both sides with just a few spots on the reverse only visible under magnification. Overall, this dime has very good eye-appeal.
The coin has a great strike and details, but a light to medium hairlines on both sides. Torch lines are clear and well-defined, however two contact marks on the handle may interrupt the continuity of some of the vertical lines, questioning this dime's Full Torch designation. It's a close call.
Other significant contact marks include one on the very bottom of the torch, and two small nicks on Roosevelt's neck. Overall though, contact marks are grade appropriate, and all things considered, this is a pretty nice dime for the collection.
