Owner's Description
The Denver Mint only produced about 14 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1955 and this date is generally considered a semi-key date in the series. PCGS estimates that only 85,000 1955-D Roosevelt survive in MS 65 condition or better.
The 1955-D in this collection is mostly white with several spots of discoloration. The coin still has a good bit of luster, but its overall eye-appeal is just neutral.
Despite the discoloration, this dime has a very nice strike with sharp details on both sides. All torch lines appear to be fully struck. However a slight bit of wear interrupts at least one of the vertical lines on the torch. Nevertheless, this dime has a very nice torch strike for the date. The 1955-P is one of the ten least common Roosevelt dates to have been certified with a FT or FB designation by NGC or PCGS.
Overall, this coin may benefit from conservation. But I don't think it would receive a FT designation from NGC. Nevertheless, a decent coin for the collection.
