Owner's Description
The Denver Mint produced over 136 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1958 putting the date within the top ten highest minted among the 1946-1964 series. Only very high grade 1958-D Roosevelts have good value.
The 1958-D here has an inconsistent dark red colored tone on both sides. The spotty nature of the toning gives this coin below average eye-appeal. Perhaps this coin is a candidate for conservation.
Color aside, this dime has a great torch strike. All vertical and band lines appear to be clear, defined, and uninterrupted by contact marks. There is a scuff on the torch handle but it does not appear to interrupt the continuity of any of the vertical lines. So in addition to conservation, perhaps this coin should be regraded all together.
