Owner's Description
The Philadelphia Mint produced over 113 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1954 and millions survive in mint state condition. This Roosevelt date is noted for common colored toning.
This dime has a very nice blue color on top of a darker russet-colored tone. The blue color is pretty, but overall this coin has just neutral eye-appeal.
It also has a below average strike with some light to medium hairlines and spread in some of the lettering around the perimeter on both sides. Most of the vertical and upper band lines are clear and defined, however contact marks interrupt the continuity of the vertical lines and the lower band line is not present at all.
Contact marks are present and grade appropriate, however all things considered MS 67 is a generous grade for this coin. Perhaps MS 66 seems more appropriate. I would like to get a better and nicer looking coin to fill this spot.
