Owner's Description

The Denver Mint produced nearly 53 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1948 and millions survive in uncirculated and mint state condition.

The obverse of this dime has a nice orange tone around 30% of the perimeter that runs through the date. The reverse is grayish/white with only a few small spots at 12 o'clock. Overall this coin has lost some of its original luster and is nearly gray, however, it a generally good eye-appeal.

The coin has great strike with very fine details on both sides. All torch lines are clear and well-defined with no interruptions and is a very nice example of a full torch strike. There is a small contact mark on the torch handle, but it does not interrupt the continuity of any vertical lines.

Other noticeable small contact marks on the reverse include one on the eastern most olive leaf. The obverse has a little less damage with one small noticeable contact mark on Roosevelt's cheek. Overall, this is a nice appropriately graded dime. The lack of a little luster would be the only complaint about this dime.
