Owner's Description
Nearly 47 million Roosevelt dimes were produced by the Denver Mint in 1947 and millions survive in mint state condition.
The 1947-D in this collection is a bright white coin with good luster. There are some very light spots seen under magnification on both sides, but the coin's overall eye-appeal is good.
It has a great strike on both sides with no significant hairlines spread in any of the lettering. The dime also has sharp features with good eye and brow details on the obverse, and a really nice torch strike on the reverse.
The vertical and upper band lines are all clear, defined, and uninterrupted. However the lower band line is less than 80% complete and crossed by a few very small contact marks. Nevertheless, this dime has a very nice near full torch strike.
Other very light contact marks are present on both sides, but this coin is appropriately graded at MS 67. Overall, this is a very nice dime for the collection from Six Mile Rick.
