Owner's Description
This is one of the major Victorian rarities - very hard to find even in very worn condition let alone in such a lofty grade as this. The stated mintage figure of 938,520 belies the actual number released into circulation. The coin is far lovelier than the photos suggest - the obverse has bright cartwheel lustre with some very light mellow toning to the bust and left of this. The reverse is brilliant and one of those semi-prooflike gems that crop up now and then in this series. Sourced from a major London auction, the like of this coin will be seen but very rarely.
