Owner's Description

Only 8,875 quarters were struck in 1884 (875 proofs), which is one of the lowest total production runs in the entire Seated quarter series. While not especially rare as a proof, this is a piece of singular beauty. Each side is brilliant and the fields are deeply reflective. The devices show a significant amount of mint frost, which gives the coin its pronounced cameo effect. Nearly perfect surfaces, a strong magnifier will be necessary to pick up any post-striking impairments.
