Owner's Description
Here is a true "Wonder Coin" within the Liberty Seated Quarter series. It possesses blazing mint brilliance, fully exposing ultra-deep reflective fields and crisp, pure white cameo effect frosted devices. The certified grade amply identifies this coin as virtual perfection, and there is no question as to the accuracy of the lofty designation. Visual appeal is magnificent. It truly is a breathtaking example. The history and circumstances surrounding the low population quarters and half dollars struck from 1879 to 1890 are well documented. In short, the Mint nearly suspended production of these denominations and concentrated on producing millions of silver dollars from mega-tons of silver being mined in the West.
Mintage of this date was a mere 15,439 pieces, including 1,039 coined in the Proof format.
