Owner's Description

The 1999 Dolley Madison Silver Dollar represents the first time that a First Lady was depicted on a United States coin. Issued to mark the 150th anniversary of her death, this coin is popular with collectors to its beautiful design and unique aspects. The designs for the Dolley Madison coin were created by Tiffany and Co, leading jewelers to the private sector.
The obverse shows Dolley Madison on the grounds of the Montpelier estate. With a bouquet of her favorite Cape Jasmine flowers.
The reverse shows a view of the Montpelier estate and landscaping.
JUST A TIDBIT: The logotype of Tiffany and Co. "T & Co" appear on both sides of the coin, this is also a first in US coinage history.
