Owner's Description

The 2011 U.S. Army Silver Dollar was issued to commemorate the establishment of the Army in 1775. The United States Mint in Philadelphia and the Mint in San Francisco began selling on January 31, 2011under introductory prices. The Proof minted in Philadelphia and the uncirculated struck in San Francisco. The $10 surcharge went to the Army Historical Foundation.
The obverse designed by Richard Masters shows a male and female soldier back to back. In the background is a globe to symbolize the ability to do worldwide deployment.
The reverse designed by Susan Gamble depicts the Great Seal of the United States.
