Owner's Description
The 2001 American Buffalo Silver Dollar was issued to commemorate the opening of the National Museum of the American Indian of the Smithsonian Institution. It is the everlasting design of the famous Buffalo Nickel done by James Earl Fraser.
The obverse and reverse were both taken from the 1913 Indian Head, or Buffalo Nickel, with some minor changes in the way of inscriptions added to the reverse. I.E. "ONE DOLLAR".
The coins were minted in Denver and Philadelphia, uncirculated and proof respectively.
Mintage: 227,131. Population: 1725. NGC Universal ID: 28VD. Catalog #KM-325. Pre-issue price: $30.00. Regular price: $32.00.
This MS70 Buffalo commemorative is the most stunning coin I have ever seen in MS70, None can compare. The pics I took don't do this coin justice.
