Owner's Description

Beautiful coin. One of sixteen different coins struck in clad, silver, and gold. This was done over a course of three yrs.
The catalog # is: KM-269, Universal ID: 28tt. Population: 1126. Mintage: 92,016. Pre-issue price: $30.95 Regular price: $34.95. These coins were for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta Georgia. The United States won three of the four Gold medals in tennis. For the first time at the Olympics a single bronze medal was awarded in each event.
The tennis games were played at the Stone Mountain Tennis Center, in Atlanta. The surface was called Plexipave.
The uncirculated coins were struck in Denver, and the proof version at the Philadelphia Mint. There was a maximum mintage allowance at one million, but they narrowly exceeded 100,000.
