Owner's Description

The World Cup is the most prestigious Soccer tournament. Soccer is becoming more prevalent in the US, but has been popular in the rest of the world for centuries. In Great Britain and many other countries it is called football or association football.
The tournament is held every four years. Now, rotated amongst countries. The soccer of today originated in England in the 1800s. The field is 100 to 130 yards long, and 50 to 100 yards wide. The goal measures 24 ft. wide by 8 f.t high. There are 11 players on the field from each side.
