Owner's Description

Born March 16, 1751 died June 28, 1836. Served as President from March 4, 1809---March 3, 1817. Married to Dolley Payne Todd. He was a Colonel in the war for Independence, but was discharged due to poor health before serving in combat.
The highlight of his Presidency was the impressment of American sailors into the British Navy sparked the War of 1812.
