Owner's Description

Eisenhower was the first term limited President of the United States. He appointed five Supreme Court Justices during his eight years of office.
FAST FACT: Eisenhauer means iron hewer/miner in German.
As a freshman in high school, he injured his knee and a resulting infection extended to his groin and doctors wanted to amputate, but he refused, and miraculously it went on to heal. At West Point he finished school with less than shinning discipline rating.
During WWII he was Supreme Allied Commander in all of Europe. Along with Chamberlain of Great Briton developed Operation Overlord, which was the invasion of France.
Mintage: 1,144,461. Population: 3614. NGC Universal ID: 28R7. Catalog # KM-227. Pre-issue price: $25.00. Regular price: $29.00.
The Eisenhower Commemorative Silver Dollar was offered in proof and uncirculated versions. The uncirculated coin was produced at the West Point Mint, and the proof version was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The coins were for sale individually, and the proof was also in the 1990 Prestige Proof Set. The surcharge from the sale of the Commemorative coins was used to help in the reduction of the public debt.
