Owner's Description

F-103a. With Gerry Fortin having identified so many die marriages (twenty-one for this date), one can have a lot of fun and spend hours trying to sort them out. It adds an element of interest in common dates which tend to be glossed over. Identification is particularly difficult for those varieties which have no significant distinguishing characteristics and one has to go on date placement alone. That is the case here, and led me to decide this is a F-103a, although I must admit not with a high degree of certainty. No questions about the coin itself. An unblemished beauty, one of three MS-67s graded at PCGS with none finer. Bought from a Superior auction, July, 2003, lot 1011.
