Owner's Description

F-105. The position and slope of the date practically dictates this variety. But the reverse calls for a right-sloping S/S mint mark, clearly pictured in Fortin. In this case the slope and position of the mint mark is correct, but there is only just a hint of a repunched mint mark in both the upper and lower loops. A light die crack connecting the tops of the two branches of the wreath on the reverse is the only anamoly to report. This seems to be the most common of these late date S-mints,but still is relatively scarce in gem. There are eight MS-66s and one MS-67 at NGC to go with just five MS-66s at PCGS. A nice, original coin probably average for the grade. Bought in June 2007 from a Bowers sale, lot 669.
