Owner's Description

F-101, from the position of the date and its slight downslope. There are a very large number of high grade specimens of this date for a coin that is regarded as being very scarce. Five coins have been graded MS-68, and another five MS-67. This coin seems to be a perfect strike with voluminous luster. Technically nothing would seem to hold the coin back from a higher grade. There is a little light toning near the rims on both the obverse and reverse, but otherwise there are no marks on the coin and the strike is very strong. Bought from a Heritage auction, February 2002, lot 5711.
