Owner's Description

A brilliant coin with light toning around the rims. For a common R-2 coin Gerry Fortin has made variety identification difficult by coming up with twenty different die pairs. After multiple searches I finally concluded this coin was a F-108 .The position of the date and the heavy clashing on the reverse just inside the E in DIME drew me to this conclusion. Not only is the date R-2, but as it turns out the variety is also R-2 among the most common. The coin is the sole MS-68 graded for the date, but it is trailed by thirty-seven MS-67's, many if not most of which figure to be more colorful than this one. Bought directly from Heritage, February, 2006.
