Owner's Description

F-107. Fortin lists sixteen different die combinations for this date, and the variations can be quite subtle. But in the case of this coin it seems to be a perfect match for a F-107. The position of the date somewhat further left than usual, and the position and upslope of the left arrow are exactly as pictured in Fortin, plus the 1 and the 4 in the date have been lightly recut. Not an especially rare date even in gem. PCGS has graded six in MS-67 with three in MS-68 finer. While NGC has listed eight in MS-67 with one MS-68 and even one MS-69 finer. This would place this coin just marginally in the condition census. The coin itself boasts good luster and colorful toning with no marks or distractions of any kind. Bought from Larry Whitlow, January 2008.
