Owner's Description

F-103, closed 3, from the position of the date, the broken S in (S)TATES, and the recutting of the 1, 7, and 3 (and possibly, but not so obviously the 8) in the date. The coin is deeply toned and somewhat dark in appearance, but there are no obvious marks or lines to mar the fields. The sole MS-67 graded at both services, it is trailed by four MS-66s at PCGS, with another four at NGC. Bought from a Heritage auction, October 2001, lot 5937.
