Owner's Description

F-101, the first S is STATES is awkwardly connected with its upper tip. For a coin which is probably the easiest to locate of the San Francisco dates in the 1860, finding one in top notch gem condition has proved allusive. This coin while a solid MS-65 lacks the flair of most of the others in this collection. Between the services there are seventeen MS-65s which should be enough to go around. These are topped by five MS-66s and a sole MS-67 at PCGS. Bought from a Heritage auction, January, 2007, lot 2580.
