Owner's Description

F-101, with some claim to being the finest known. If so, it would not be due to any particular stength of this coin, but rather the weakness of the competition. This is the sole coin graded MS-67 by NGC, with only one coin below it graded MS-66. The highest grade so far at PCGS is MS-65. A decent strike with no obvious flaws makes up for the lack of eye appeal as the surfaces lack color and are marred by a few dark toning spots and streaks. Bought from the Stack's sale of the Northern Bay collection, March, 2006, lot 4287. Even here the cataloguer thought it would be presumptuous to call this coin the finest known, hedging a little terming it as "without question among the finest known." I commend this catalogue to you. It contains an outstanding run of Seated Dimes.
